NASCLA Frequently Asked Questions
How much is the application fee?
The application fee is $35 per application. No prerequisites are required to apply.
How long is my NASCLA application valid?
Your application is valid for one (1) year from the date of approval. You may take the exam up to three (3) times during this period.
How do I schedule my NASCLA exam?
All scheduling is handled through PSI. Visit PSI's Test Takers Website or call 855-746-8177 to schedule your exam.
How do I apply for the exam?
You can apply by visiting the NASCLA National Examination Database: ned.nascla.org. Processing may take up to 7 business days.
What happens after my application is approved?
Once approved, you’ll receive an email from the testing provider with your test taker ID (starting with NASCC) and scheduling instructions.
Where can I find the list of required exam books?
You can find the list of required reference materials on our NASCLA landing page:
What if my application expires?
If your application expires, submit a re-application at ned.nascla.org to regain eligibility.
Where can I get my NASCLA transcript?
You can purchase an official transcript at ned.nascla.org. NASCLA does not email transcripts. Transcripts are only available for state agencies participating in the NASCLA program.
What if I need exam accommodations?
Request accommodations by contacting PSI at 855-746-8177 or by submitting a request on their website: PSI Accommodations Request.
