NICET has updated the In-Building Public Safety Communications (IB-PSC) exams on December 2nd, 2024.
Content Outline:

Defining the Project Scope (Questions related to these tasks make up 15-25% of the exam.)
- Understand requirements and obtain authorization to proceed from the FCC
licensee.
- Understand requirements and obtain authorization to proceed from the AHJ.
- Evaluating RF Signal Strength and Quality (Questions related to these tasks make up 30-40% of the exam.)
- Determine and obtain test equipment.
- Identify sources of potential RF interferences.
- Grade and document RF signal strength and quality test results.
- System Design and Layout (Questions related to these tasks make up 30-35% of the exam.)
- Provide parameters for system design applications.
- Validate selected system equipment (BDA and non-BDA solutions).
- Plan headend (e.g., physical layout, structural, and architectural construction
considerations).
- Review and finalize system layout.
- Validate bill of materials (BOM).
- Execute permit process.
- Performing Commissioning, Acceptance Test, and Maintenance Activities (Questions related to these tasks make up 5-15% of the exam.)
- Complete acceptance process.

Candidates are responsible for reviewing the content outline and bringing in allowable printed references that are applicable to what is being tested.
