Operations Manager for an Online School and Bookstore
Position Summary: You will play a crucial role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the organization. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning of the online school and bookstore, managing various operational processes, and collaborating with different teams, Sales, Production, & Warehouse to ensure efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Must be an outside the box thinker and problem solver to manage inventory, shipping, receiving, and production scheduling of Construction Industry related training materials for an eCommerce website.
The ability to think outside the box to be able to create, modify and strengthen the existing processes and procedures to improve morale, worker safety and profitability.
Operational Strategy and Planning:
- Develop, implement, and improve operational strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure the smooth functioning of the online school and bookstore.
- Collaborate with the CEO to set operational goals and objectives aligned with the organization's mission and vision.
Online School Operations:
- Oversee the operational aspects of the online school, including scheduling, curriculum delivery, student enrollment, and support services.
- Collaborate with the academic team to ensure efficient course delivery, student progress tracking, and timely resolution of student-related issues.
- Implement systems and processes to enhance the online learning experience for students and optimize learning management systems (LMS).
- Manage the bookstore operations, including inventory management, purchasing, pricing, and order fulfillment.
- Coordinate with publishers, suppliers, and distributors to ensure timely availability of course materials, textbooks, and other learning resources.
- Monitor sales and analyze market trends to make informed decisions regarding inventory management and product selection.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the operations team, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting teamwork and individual growth.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.
Process Improvement and Quality Assurance:
- Continuously evaluate operational processes and identify areas for improvement, implementing streamlined procedures and automation where applicable.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards, maintaining high-quality standards for both the online school and bookstore operations.
- Monitor customer feedback and implement measures to enhance customer satisfaction and resolve any operational issues promptly.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Collect and analyze operational data, generate reports, and present key insights to senior management.
- Utilize data to identify trends, optimize processes, and make data-driven decisions to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, operations management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Proven experience in operations management, preferably in an online education or e-commerce environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and e-commerce platforms.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.
- Bilingual , Human Resources & Payroll background are a huge plus !
